Market Garden was an epic battle, though. Interestingly, one of the German Panzer companies sent against the British 1st Airbourne was composed of captured French Char B1bis tanks. 14 of the 17 ex-French tanks had had their 75mm cannons (a version of the famed “French 75” of WWI fame) replaced by flamethrowers. These Flammpanzers were used to great effect, as they often were against infantry with no tanks of their own to protect them.
