Hell forget about AA, I want to know how any thinking person with any brains or compassion votes for and supports the Republican Party.

A lot of folks convince themselves that the social issue stuff won’t actually get through, but that it’s better if people pay less taxes. I have neighbors who are great people, and in many ways reasonable, but who vote according to the supposition above.

I’m of the opposite position: I take politicians deadly fucking serious when they talk about sweeping changes to civil liberties and such.
