My overall impression that Maguire tried to play CYA with this complaint because of the subject, and even now still fears that Donny may can his ass if he doesn’t appear to be doing the best he can to stymie Dem efforts.

He’s in a tough spot, for sure. I get the feeling he’s trying to do the right thing, but at the same time is in fear for his job.

Which of course, (IMHO) would likely backfire on Trump and his crooked Admin. like almost everything else he’s tried: I can think of few actions more likely to assure Trump’s guilt in the public mind than booting YET ANOTHER official for putting ethics/the law above “protecting the President”. And never mind why this President seems to need so much “protection”…..
