Given that those international entanglement mean an endless simmering of dead Jews and that no one really cares, I say you are right. If the Israelis strongly and unilaterally said enough! And if they truly took firm action and said, sorry we are not going to take it anymore, yes the world would whine, for a bit. Then however it would be over.

well, if they could actually survive without the huge amount of aid and loans they receive :p

And I think that’s actually my beef. In many ways (and you’re gonna hate me saying this), Israel is a dependant, if not a client state to the US and western Europe. In that situation they can’t do whatever they want, and it makes all the breast-beating kind of silly.

That being said, if they want ot go that way, more power to them. At least, as you said, it would break the status quo ;)
