A lot of homophobia is secular. Hear me out, I’m not saying secularism causes homophobia, I’m saying there’s a lot of non-religious rationale behind homophobia that does exist. In fact, I think that’s what a lot of homophobia really is- discomfort around gay people and feeling grossed out by ‘two guys fucking.’

What secular rationale exists for homophobia then. Please enlighten me. Of all the time I have been an atheist (all my life), I have never once heard anyone advance a secular argument for homophobia. Perhaps it is because I lived a sheltered life in such small places as my village, seventeen years in the Navy, Virginia Beach/Norfolk, Jacksonville Fla., little sheltered places like that.

I did have my home picketed in Virginia Beach, for daring to run a private secular BBS on a bloody Commodore 64 though. It was all those secular people from CBN University that were picketing my house and threatening my baby son. It was the Virginia Beach police that said well I deserved it.

Yeah, it is a magic balance fairy argument, even if you refuse to see it and then claim I am strawmanning your argument. Count up the number of “secularly motivated” attacks on gays in the USA and when you have that number get back with me.
