No, Dark. Austerity is fucking terrible, demonstrably so. All the countries enacting austerity measures have done far worse than the countries that haven’t in recovering from the recession.

A ‘savaging’? What on earth are you talking about? The ‘savaging’ of the removal of governmental services will convince people to live within their means by what mechanism? What if they already were living within their means, but austerity programs have removed governmental services they relied on?
