The current official picture of the VC-25A is this one over Mt. Rushmore.

It’s the one used (cropped) used on the WH page.

I think you’re correct, time for a new picture.

It might have been wise, giving the operating costs of the VC-25A to postpone, if nothing more than for appearance of fiscal prudence.

This photo op is probably not the primary purpose of the mission. Training needs to be done for pilots and other crew on a regular basis, they likely adjusted a mission to accommodate it. On a smaller scale, it is comparable to the lunch runs we used to do to various airports in KS when I was stationed at Ft. Riley as a Huey Crew Chief. Pilots get their flight hours, crews get training time, and we all got a great lunch.
