Genocide. They keep using that term. It doesn’t mean what they think it means.
It’s become a catchall and go-to phrase for anti-Israel sentiment that explodes across the net when violence ratchets up between Israel and Hamas.
Used properly, genocide can and does describe events ongoing in the current day. The ISIS attacks against Yezidi and Kurds - threats of conversion or death (and mostly death, ethnic cleansing, and other assorted atrocities) are a textbook definition of genocide.
That’s it. Other recent genocides include the Rwandan genocide. The Darfur genocide.
