It does seem that Michigan Republicans are planning to vote for an alternative set of electors to instigate a constitutional crisis. Pennsylvania could go along with that too. So 2 slates of electors from each state. The GOP is ready to bring this nation down. This isn’t 1876 when they got away with these shenanigans. Only McConnell can stop this — and he isn’t. Trump has proved that he could get away with violating every norm — and this ideology has permeated the entire party.

The MI Legislature does not have the authority to appoint alternate electors.
