I can’t imagine the affect this might have on enlistment if it goes through. If I sign up and then I’m get hurt or sick by serving my country I pick up the health insurance costs? What?

That is part of what they want. Then they need a draft, and they get soldiers who aren’t as dedicated to the service of their country. Also, with a draft, more people would oppose using the armed forces where their relatives could get killed. Families of volunteers are generally more understanding and supportive, although certainly all losses are tragic.

Someone in the administration seems to know what they’re doing. Unfortunately, he’s trying to destroy the country.
