To help answer that question I just had the book the author mentions “the history of White People” by Nell Irvin Painter set aside for me at the library. Ironically, the author is a black woman.

Umm I don’t that’s really ironic personally, I think that in order to get a truly unbiased look at any group’s history, you need to hear it from someone who isn’t a member of that group.
