I look at it like this. Where the big networks leave a vacuum, bloggers and live streamers and ordinary people with some kind of camera will fill it. then as should naturally follow-Equal protection under the law.

While authorities can create perimeters that require a pass, it’s on us ordinary folk to somehow get it done. I have talked my way onto a press vehicle or area a time or three. Lots of ordinary people with cameras made a big positive difference in Occupy.

Getting that pass implies a process of prior certification, something the 1A would be concerned about. At the same time, every asshole with an iPhone is not what the FF had in mind. Technology outstrips law again.

(In the 60s, when I was working the bottom rung of photography, an accepted canon was that you could not call yourself a professional photographer until you made 51% of your income from it.)
