At Christmas (at the wingnut side of the family), my uncle tried to show me some anti-Muslim website on his phone and said that Islam is a “demonic religion.” Yes. Really. I then said to him that my sister’s boyfriend is a Muslim, born in Pakistan, raised in the Emirates and then moved here for his graduate degree in accounting. He’s probably the most polite, gentle person I have ever met. Does his religion make him demonic, I asked? *crickets*
