Saw the latest polls in the GOP race and found myself marveling at how much has changed in a year. 12 months ago, everybody was sure the race was Jeb!’s to lose and anybody who suggested Donald Trump would be a serious candidate was laughed at. And six months ago, everybody was sure that Trump was in the “fall” portion of “rise and fall” and Jeb! would still win the nomination based upon his being the establishment candidate.

And now I find myself imaging, a year from now, “moderate” Republicans seriously trying to sell us on the shit sandwich that is a Trump nomination. Perhaps that’s why I’ve heard so many of them, after years of suggesting the Tea Party was past news, now trying to argue that the “shake-up” is a good thing.

It’s been amusing to watch for sure. Never thought Trump and Carson would be the front runners and establishment guys like Jeb would be doing so poor. I’m not totally surprised Jeb’s underperformed so far in that the GOP electorate has changed since his last run and campaigns themselves but I was not prepared for how stupid he can be.
