Brexit seems to be more dicey every day, doesn’t it? It looks like the UK’s economy is going to get fucked right up the patootie!

How can they keep this from happening, hmm? Maybe by noting that the original vote was a NON-BINDING referendum?!?!

Look, my wife and I go to the UK every year to visit my wife’s sister and our brother-in-law (a founding member of Silly Wizard, ensconced in the Scottish Trad Hall Of Fame) who live north of London in the unfortunately named village of Leighton Buzzard. Lots of ancient buildings, a Market Cross, and a Parish Church built in 1277 with a 190 foot steeple.

We then head north to the Edinburgh International Harp Festival where She Who Must Be Obeyed has her best week of the year, playing and laughing with her peers. She’s a hell of a musician, Eastman trained, and her crossover into Scottish/Irish/Welsh/Cornish/Brittany/Basque styles of harping, all Celtic, by the way at their roots, makes her a better player. It’s great for her, and I get to drink excellent beer and scotch.

Brexit will likely mean that we will have to cross a border when we travel from England to Scotland. The Scots will leave the UK. Edinburgh will replace London as the banking center on the island. They’ll adopt the Euro as their currency.

It will be an absolute disaster for England.

And all of this could be avoided if the UK government just said “Stop! We aren’t going to do this! What were we thinking? This is just stupid!”

They’ve got about two months to do this.
