I’d think it would break down over time due to sunlight and the radiation from the sun that’s blocked by Earth’s magnetic field.

That process is a hell of a lot slower than the breakdown due to atmospheric oxygen and aerobic bacteria here on earth. Radiation doesn’t actually turn your organs to mush; it damages your DNA so that your body turns itself to mush.
