I don’t think that’s really settled for sure, but in any case the GOP is far more cult-like today, and there’s no chance of a Ross Perot candidate splitting the vote.

From the Washington Post article, it sounds like Cheney may be contemplating a long shot run for the GOP nomination, just so there is an anti-Trump voice in the debates if he runs again. She doesn’t need to run a third party campaign.
