Personally, I find the very idea of “hate crimes” abhorrent. A crime is a crime regardless of who inflicts what to whom. The thought that you can beat a man to death and its worse of a crime because you did it maybe because he was gay or his skin color is ridiculous. The idea that someone can face criminal charges over non-slander, non criminal opinions is mind boggling
