I read somewhere to be considered credible when promoting an agenda, you have to stand firm 2/3 of the time and give your adversary credit 1/3 of the time.

People respect and are willing to follow the ‘imperfect’ precisely because they are imperfect- because in fact, they are just like them.

People will follow those they believe share their values- and they are most suspect of dogmatic ‘leaders.’
