Do we not stand for freedom and equality? If a ‘conservative’ makes common cause with racists, isn’t that an antithesis?

Do we not stand for justice? How can we find common cause with those who call for mass deportations, or internments, or any other method of taking away liberty from fellow American citizens? Can we not continue to wrap our minds around the fact that it is only some, and not all and not react in an extreme way?

Those are just two issues that the people you have mentioned have failed in adhering to conservative principles, but perhaps I am the one who misunderstands what being a conservative means?
