Here’s the problem the GOP faces though. The establishment hates Trump and know he’s a loser for their party’s chances but the base doesn’t feel that way. Yeah they’re less enthuiasstic than they might have been for post GOP nominees but overall the GOP base likes Trump and doesn’t have a problem with him being a bigoted jackass.

The base is basically stupid.
