Hi there {vxbush} - I don’t have asthma (thank God) but I thought I’d seen ads for that Advair or somesuch that said it doesn’t play well with inhalers? Am I wrong about that (I hope - damn I’d sure as hell want an inhaler if I had it)?

Well, Advair is a combination of two drugs that are available on the market separately. It would a bad idea, I would think, to take Advair with one of its sister inhalers, as that would give you an overdose of the medication. (Note that Advair is an inhaler too, not using propellent but negative air pressure to move the medication.)

But rescue inhalers, like albuterol, are an absolute necessity for asthmatics. I had a friend die two years ago because she didn’t realize she was having a life-threatening attack and then tried to take her inhaler too late.
