Yes, I sure as frak would have. I’d have played Clinton’s gambit, letting the worst happen and then let the opposition explain to the public why they’d been dragging their heels for months. Why they had no problem in the past with passing clean debt ceiling bills, but suddenly demanded major budget cuts in a time of poor economic growth. I’d make them own the disaster.

Is that the only “good” thing that can be seen now? That we didn’t go into default?
