I’d have to go back and look, but I think that when there’s been an incumbent in the WH seeking a 2d term, the party tries to avoid any primary challengers. I consider that standard operating procedure. What’s insane here is that the GOP/RNC is tying itself to a corrupt and complicit criminal syndicate in the WH and are setting themselves up for a huge fail should the indictments really hit the fan in coming weeks/months.
