Yep, but either way or whatever the story, the Govenor - unless he names the Lt.Govenor to “fill in” is repsonsible for the mobiliaztion of S.C. National Guard, certain Emergency Response teams and the like.
So while I hope he ISN’T really sick and was just screwing off (or around) he can’t be said to have discharged his duties as Govenor with any sense of responsibility.

That’s the issue, he didn’t notify staff and chain of command he was gonna’ be out of the loop. He doesn’t have to say where he is going, but he does have to tell folks he’s going and transfer authority to the Lt. Gov.
