My take on the Tea Party: I initially supported it in a lukewarm fashion (I didn’t go to the first one they had here). Then I heard about the Ronulan infiltration. I suggested stringent message control. Later I realised that the nuttiness wasn’t restricted to the fringe, but is becoming an organising principle of the Tea Party movement. Any attempt to shut down crazy messages would probably result in a mini riot at this point.

We’ll probably not see as many nirthers; but I expect we’ll see a lot of in-your-FACE anti-media agitation, barely-veiled racism, and ronpaul!ronpaul!ronpaul!.

So they’ll have to have their tea without me.
