I think that’s the point, though. The establishment Republicans who aren’t willing to sign on to the teabagger fail want all this Bad Crazy to end. The way to get that is to let the wingnuts ramp up the crazy, including all that birther shit, let the nominee get humiliated in 2012, then start trying to bring the Republican party back to some semblance of sanity by 2016.

OK. You are arguing they aren’t even going to run in 2012. That would certainly make sense for Huntsman, but I think T-Paw and Mittens have to run now.
