So did I hear tonight or not that the GOP is blocking backpay for federal workers? If true, just another way these fuckers sink even lower. They shut down the government, demand to be paid during it, and now they want to deny pay to federal employees who didn’t choose to cause the shutdown. Seriously fuck the GOP. I’d love to see them go the way of the Whigs or Dixiecrats.

Cornyn’s up to his usual tricks, declaring that the Senate should not speed the bill through and instead demands that it get debated and possibly amended if he sees fit to do so. Note this is a bill that passed the House 407-0, which means even the nutters on the other side of Congress weren’t crazy enough to fuck with furloughed workers back pay.
