Well, it was a planned roadblock intended to arrest the leaders of the occupation while they were in ‘dark territory’ (there’s no cell phone reception in the canyon where these events played out), so I can see how a “They planned to kill him in advance!!1” narrative could take shape, though this video should put an end to all reasonable doubts about the shooting: It was Fully Justified.

And while we are on the topic: How do conspiracy nuts explain Robert Finicum being “gunned down in cold blood”, while Ryan Bundy was only wounded and his brother Ammon was not harmed at all?
