That’s not a Godwin’s Law violation, as you were using the Nazis as an example of the power of propaganda, not making an unwarranted comparison between them and another group.

That and the fact that the Communists the Nazis claimed to be fighting were real and were violent (at least until the Nazis came to power and imprisoned them all). That gave Nazi propaganda an added “aura of truthiness”, to borrow from Stephen Colbert.
