A customer just called me to tell me that she can’t go on with the project we were talking about. I always ask customers not to call me back unless they decide to do the project; I tell them; “I already have your ‘no’. You only have to call me to change to a yes.

So, when she apologetically broke the “bad news” (I really didn’t give a shit… she was wanting to completely redo her kitchen for under 10K she was entirely unrealistic with her expectations anyway), I told her;

“Oh, don’t worry about it. As a matter of fact, I had already forgotten that you exist.” I had, she had to remind me who she was.

She was audibly upset (we were on the phone). Don’t know why.
