I agree on that. Now that the Tea Party is dead the wingnuts are just flailing wildly with nothing to guide them. I think Trump is a good example of this. He has nothing in common with the Tea Party. He’s pretty left leaning. Proposed higher taxes on the wealthy, advocated for Canadian style single payer universal healthcare and supported a long list of Democrats. Wingnuts have latched on to him because the birther thing even though he believes the exact opposite of the Tea Party.

I’m not doubting you on this, but do you happen to have any links for this? I would love to blow a few wingnut minds.
