Exactly and it’s just like last night which was nothing more than an exercise in CYA. The biggest fight behind closed doors was how to cover dems/repubs in contentious districts so they can vote against party lines.

Well, that’s because it’s much easier and safer politically (In the short term, at least) to wave your arms around and make empty gestures than it is to actually sit down and bang out real solutions that may involve doing things that aren’t popular.
