Iron Fist probably has more info than I do, but yes, there have been proposals floating around to force manufacturers to put serial numbers on bullets and casings…California has/had one I believe.

Not sure it’ll go anywhere, but NRA is keeping a keen eye on these proposals.

The biggest catch on the ammo encoding in various states is they also require anyone who has unencoded ammo to destroy it in 2011.
