Ted Nugent did a nice guitar rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner”, which Afrocity correctly pointed out, sounded like Jimi Hendrix’s version at Woodstock or wherever Hendrix played that song with lots of feedback noise.

I personally would have preferred mezzo soprano Denyce Graves to sing the Battle Hymn of the Republic, but she sang Sunday in Washington, DC at the Easter Service at the Lincoln Memorial instead

Hendrix’s Star Spangled Banner was anti-war and meant to portray the violent and warlike nature of America.
