re: #563 drcordell

I’m not saying there’s an ulterior motive. I’m saying the entire reason that Israel enacted the blockade for one reason, and one reason only. To stop the rocket attacks. And guess what? By that metric The fucking blockade has failed.

Hamas still gets its weapons. They get to profit from the smuggling of all the goods that can’t be imported because of the blockade. And Israel furthers its isolation from the international community.

No other nation that does the things that Israel does (and yes, other nations do the things Israel does) gets “isolated from the international community.” No one blames a nation for fighting wars for survival. No nation, that is, except Israel. No one blames a nation for putting up a wall and roadblocks to stop killers from entering and murdering its citizens. No nation, that is, except Israel. No one blames a nation for invading another nation that is raining rockets down on its citizens. No nation, that is, except Israel. No one blames a nation for establishing a blockade to prevent an entity with which it is at war from re-arming. No nation, that is, except Israel.

There is NOTHING Israel can do that will NOT “further its isolation from the international community,” drcordell. Don’t you understand? Nothing. Every move it has made to try to make the international community happy has just placed it in greater danger. Every perfectly legitimate and internationally accepted step (by any other nation except Israel) it has taken to defend itself and ensure its security has been met with international outrage.

This is it, drcordell. This is the line in the sand. This is all Israel has left. And you want them to give this up as well. To make the international community happy. Which nothing else Israel has done to appease the international community has achieved.

Why can’t you understand?
