Sure, if you count comic books about superheroes as “the literature”.

What is it with repression-happy cons, anyway? Is it just that they need threats of punishment for their own thoughts and deeds?

If the threat of eternal hellfire and damnation isn’t enough to get people to kiss god’s butt and accept his kid as their savior, what’s to make us think the threat of death will deter crime?

Then again, maybe the threat of the death penalty is all that stands between conservatives and killing sprees.
