Doesn’t she know that lefties hate Hitler and were his big opponents in his rsie to power? For crying out loud, the German left supported Paul Hindenberg over Hitler in 1932. Pam doesn’t know shit about German history at all. And it should be pointed out just because his favorite books have some lefty titles in them doesn’t mean he’s a lefty just like him having favorite books by rightists means he’s a rightist. His words however make it more likely he’s a rightist. I am fascinated by dictators and a book I recently enjoyed was a biography of Stalin before he was in charge of the USSR. That doesn’t make me a Stalinist or even a Communist.

The charge that Hitler was a leftie is very popular with the right-wing, for obvious reasons. It’s especially popular among those who lean libertarian. You can find that case argued going back to Hayek’s “Road to Serfdom”.
