One of my uncles kept scamming AOL for the better part of a year. Every time he got low on free hours, he’d ring them up and make noises about canceling his subscription, and the person at the other end would offer him more free hours to keep his subscription, which he’d accept “grudgingly.” Eventually he really did end his subscription, but only because he finally got DSL.
