What we know is that someone is distributing anti-Jewish flyers and is looking to sow discord in the Ukraine. Which group stands to benefit most from this?

It isn’t the Jews, that’s for sure. And it has a whole lot of remarkable similarities to the kinds of propaganda pushed ahead of pogroms and the Nazi fanaticism that culminated in harsh repression in Germany.

This is a terribly depressing turn of events, and those Ukrainian Jews have got to be wondering when the other shoe might drop.

My family can trace its history back to parts of Ukraine, so this hits home too.

For far too many people (and we’ve seen this here in the US too) - when all else fails to explain what happens in breaking/current events, find the scapegoat to pin it on, and it invariably leads to the “other”, which all too frequently means Jews.
