Part of me, the conspiratorial part, thinks that the GOP strategists’ #1 goal has been to hold up as many electoral votes as possible in court battles, battles that have conveniently arisen due to the influx of all these voter ID laws the past couple of years.

That’s the strategy of those faced with certain demographic defeat. They can’t win with only their own voters, they have to damage the chances of the other side by disenfranchising its voters.
