The Case of the Creationist Mom

I’m really, really trying to understand the logic that allowing children to remain in an abusive cult with absolutely no contact with one parent is preferential to letting the children go to a public school. If there is something a parent objects to in the public school’s curriculum, the parent has choices. They can complain to the school board; they can send their child to private school or opt to homeschool; they can take the radical step of explaining to the child that what they’re learning is a viewpoint and expose them to the alternative. The child in the cult has none of these options, and any step to interfere with the brainwashing is likely to result in severe and possibly permanent injury.
