Adds a new dimension to having “lead in your pencil”

Chinese Wrappers

Oh, that is wrong on so many levels.

We have a similar situation here in my home town. A local paper and cardboard recycler that has been open for over 40 years is closing down in May, and laying off 58 workers. Reason for shutdown? The new EPA regs on “CO2 emissions” that are coming down the pike will make it impossible to operate this recycling plant “in the black”, due to the new emission controls they demand. (BTW, the primary atmospheric efflux of this plant, a pulping mill, is…steam.)

Which means that, in the Name of The Sacred Church of Ecology, this pulping plant will no longer produce… water vapor.

And the paper and cardboard it previously put back into industry will, instead, most likely go to…landfills.

Thus Is Holy Mother Gaia Saved.

/These people really, really need to look up the terms “Perverse Incentive” and “Law of Unintended Consequences” before they start writing laws.

cheers
