That was another idea that made Thrawn so interesting; his opposition to super weapons. I don’t remember the exact line, but he went on this little rant about the Emperor’s hubris:

“For that one Death Star, he could have built 100,000 star destroyers.” Or some other number. I don’t recall.

Heh. Yeah, I do recall something like that. Thrawn was certainly more practical in his approach. Mind you, the whole super-weapon idea doesn’t have to be dead. I remember KotOR using it to good effect where it made sense.
