Because all rapists are known to charge their victims slowly, from the front, giving the would-be victim time to retrieve their weapon, chamber a round and aim.
And rapists never have weapons of their own, never take victims by surprise, or use drugs.

Notice they never consider the possibility that the rapist might get the gun? Or the ways in which that might change the dynamic of the situation?
