My take is that there are some old-time Republicans who are just in denial. They can’t process what has happened since Reagan the religious right took over the party. They really are not going to change, because frankly it is very hard for older people to change.

This is why as humans it is so important to try and remain flexible in one’s thoughts. Unless one is continually seeking out new material to read and to listen, as we get older all we do is look to reify what we already believe.

Then they can damn well stop voting. There is no acceptable justification for voting for tr*mp, and its very hard to find any Republican at the Federal level who it wouldn’t be a mortal sin to vote for.
