WTF? Who’s “we”? The United States? When did we ever “have” Cuba? I somehow missed it being wrested from our “ownership.” Seems like it would have been big news.

And how would Kennedy losing the Presidency have changed…well, what really happened? I certainly don’t recall the Cuban Revolution taking place while Kennedy was in office. By the time he arrived on the scene, Cuba was already a Soviet client-state.

What fantasy universe does this woman live in?

After the Spanish-American war, the U.S. permitted Cuba to declare independence, but maintained a lot of influence, also Guantanamo, which we figured would come in handy one of these days. We never owned it, per se.

Maybe she’s talking about the Bay of Pigs affair in some random, Pamelesque way.
