I certainly don’t think all Confederates were evil. I do, however, think that the Confederacy was a terrible idea, and the Union had to be preserved.

Yep, this is what people need to come to grips with. Plus they need to understand the other perspectives as well. Lest we forget that the Confederates returned to slavery and sometimes executed captured black Union soldiers.
