I’m trying to square up “we have no idea” and the numerous statements that he did this in error. Pending more evidence, I’m allowing for the possibility it was as he said crossed by mistake, as in had no intention to enter mexico let alone fire or sell the guns. After all he could do those things right here in the USA.

What I think we do is take intent into account at a couple levels, the prosecutor and then in court. Stricken as irrelevant.

But that’s just his word on it, which you’re apparently just taking at face value. Beyond selling, he might just have wanted to keep his guns with him, and thought he could get away with it going through customs. I don’t know.
