re: #640 Alouette

Ten years ago I was required to attend a “workplace diversity” luncheon where non-kosher food was served! I ate irony for lunch.

My favorite was the multicultural workshop where we:

1. Ate trayf food,
2. Were required to engage in cross-gender hugging and touching,
3. When we played the ‘identity’ game, Pakistan was defined as ‘Middle Eastern’
and 4. We were told repeatedly how important it was to understand the cultures of others.

All I could think was that an Orthodox Jew or observant Muslim would be SOL at this fricking event. I evaded the bologna sandwiches but hugged dutifully. Have you ever been back to back, arms locked, with a fifteen year old boy and had the event organizer tell you to ‘shake your booty’? All I could think was, there are people in prison for stuff like this.
